‘I have seen it all myself in 2020 and so I know that there has not been anyone like him before, nor will there ever be. He is the divine truth, an undefeated challenge to the Gods of death and destruction’
In 2020, a team on Ross Island in southern India forcibly captured a mysterious man with the intent of extracting hidden information. Multiple interrogation sessions with the help of narco-analysis test and hypnosis revealed that the man calls himself Om Shastri. Over the next few days, various information that unravels creates a series of worries in everyone’s minds. Om holds secrets that can be either useful or disruptive to mankind depending upon who gets hold of them.
Om Shastri claims that he has won over death i.e. he is an immortal. He remains perpetually at the age of 40; defying both aging and mortality for many millennia. He has witnessed all the 04 yugas (epochs) i.e. Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga, and now he is continuing to be alive in Kali Yuga. Om claims that he has been an active part of Ramayana and has helped Lord Ram in the battle as well as a part of Mahabharata and has worked alongside Lord Krishna. He has lived for many centuries, assuming different identities, yet in each one, he appears to be 40 years old.
Why do you think you are alive? We saw you dead a year ago. If Mrit-Sanjeevani had been a theory, you would have been reduced to ashes long ago.’
Om is the sole guardian of a unique book called the Mrit-Sanjeevani (The Book of Immortality) since the Satya Yuga. His quest is to find the other seven immortals, while the team at Ross Island is determined to attain Om’s secrets of the past and the Mrit-Sanjeevani.
Om is utterly surprised when 02 out of the 07 immortals come to his rescue, creating a thrilling roller-coaster of emotions for the readers.
But where are the other 05 immortals?
What happens to the sacred book of Mrit-Sanjeevani?
Who exactly is Om Shastri? Is he really the 8th immortal of Hinduism that he claims to be?
The author has explained all the timelines, historical facts, and scientific approaches in detail. The characters are beautifully articulated, and the plot has constant twists and turns. The Hidden Hindu is a must-read for all those who are interested in reading mythology with a modern perspective.
P.S: The 07 immortals of Hinduism are Ved Vyasa, Hanumana, Ashwatthama, Parshurama, Mahabali, Vibhishana, and Kripacharya.
